The ESP units are used to clean the air stream of grease and hydrocarbons (smoke) in kitchen exhaust systems. They are highly efficient and can remove particulate down to sub-micron (0.01m) size. The filter efficiency of 98% is attained during a single pass through ESP.
Purified Air Systems
Electrostatic Air Purifiers work with static electricity to charge particles inside the air purifier. As a result, the charged particles stick to the sides of the internal filtration system and are removed from your indoor air. As buildings today become more tightly sealed to conserve energy the problem of indoor air pollution increases, as not only outdoor is kept put, but indoor air is sealed in. This gives rise to lethargy and general malaise, commonly known as Sick Building Syndrome. Typically, a mechanical filter will collect particles of 5 microns (0.005mm in diameter) size and upward, such as cement dust, pollens and fly ash.
However a purified air electronic cleaner will collect particles of sub micron size that include hazardous, invisible particles, such as tobacco smoke, atmospheric dust, bacteria and even some viruses.
Our Electrostatic Precipitators or ESP’s have been specifically designed for kitchen extract systems and have integral sumps to collect the oil, grease and smoke particles filtered out of the exhaust. This not only simplifies servicing but eradicates potentially dangerous spillage from the bottom of the units and greatly cuts down on buildups of grease within the ducting. The ionisation voltage has been designed to run at a negative potential which enhances the ionisation of particles and also produces more ozone which is helpful in reducing cooking odours. Our ESP units fit in-line with the kitchen ducting and can be configured modularly to cope with all extract volume requirements.
